Free Quick Installs
Introduction
At the beginning of the process, Civic Works will provide every participating household with free energy efficiency measures that are quick and easy to install. These include LED light bulbs, an advanced power strip, faucet aerators, low-flow showerheads, hot water pipe insulation, and Nest-E Thermostats. These low-effort installations are an easy way to guarantee energy savings for all household types.
How It Works
After signing up for Civic Works’ services, all customers are eligible for free quick installs. Civic Works will reach out to customers and schedule a convenient time for our installation team to visit your household and complete the installations. During the home visit, a Civic Works staff member will replace all inefficient light bulbs with LED light bulbs, provide an advanced power strip, reduce water usage through faucet aerators and low-flow showerheads, and insulate hot water pipes to prevent heat loss. The home visit lasts an average of 30 minutes.
Benefits
There are several benefits to a quick install: they reduce energy usage, which in turn reduces your monthly energy bills. They also reduce general resource consumption, which benefits the environment. To verify our impact, Civic Works recently completed an evaluation of its energy efficiency measures with a third-party company, The Cadmus Group. The evaluation showed that homes which received quick energy efficiency installs annually saved, on average, 38 therms of gas and 580 kWh of electricity. Best of all, since Civic Works’ quick installs are at no-cost to the customer, these energy savings are completely free and have an immediate payback period for residents.
